Natural History

Natural history can be a misleading phrase because it is very different from history that you would study in a history class in high school. Natural history is actually the study of natural phenomenon. This includes geology, plants, mammals, birds, invertebrates, amphibians, and environmental systems.

The Nine Mile Run Stream Valley is home to nearly 250 plant species, 22 species of mammals, 189 kinds of birds, 29 species of amphibians and reptiles, and a variety of invertebrates and fish.
