Nine Mile Run Birdhouse

A Midsummer Night's Stream

and $60 after that date

Join the Nine Mile Run Watershed Association for its second annual neighborhood wilderness celebration, A Midsummer Night's Stream, on Saturday, July 18th, from 7 to 11 pm.  
This outdoor party provides a rare opportunity to experience the park after dark, while raising funds for NMRWA's programs of environmental stewardship and advocacy. A Midsummer Night's Stream will feature food and drink from some of the best local restaurants, including Point Brugge and East End Brewing.
Acoustic music and a special presentation by Shakespeare in the Parks of excerpts from Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream will highlight this special evening!

Pittsburgh Regional Environmental Stewardship Symposium

Environmental Charter School at Frick Park 

 Learn about the importance of volunteer work in maintaining our city's ecology in the parks and on the streets.  Meet other stewards working in Pittsburgh, and participate in outdoor workshops.  Keynote speaker Steven Handel, Director of the Center for Urban Restoration Ecology will discuss the importance of urban ecological restoration projects such as the former Fresh Kills landfill and Brooklyn Bridge Park in New York. Nine Mile Run Late Summer Stream Sweep

Meet in the Lower Frick Park soccer field, use the Lancaster Avenue entrance.

The Nine Mile Run Aquatic Ecosystem Restoration Project is one of this region’s unique environmental assets. Unfortunately, the storms we typically experience in July wash litter from streets in the upper watershed communities into the stream. Help us keep this amazing transformation beautiful by joining us for a late summer stream cleanup. We provide gloves, safety vests, and trash bags. Please wear long pants and sturdy boots or shoes. Urban Ecosteward Late Season Invasive Plants
