Reduce Your Stormwater Footprint

To reduce the amount of water rushing into Nine Mile Run during a rainstorm, it is important to keep as much rainwater as possible on your lot. By doing so, you prevent the rain from flowing over hard surfaces such as roads and driveways, picking up pollutants, and flooding and eroding Nine Mile Run. The water can slowly soak through the soil and into the water table, being cleansed by soils and plants along the way.

Nine Mile Run Rain Barrel Initiative

Nine Mile Run rain barrels are currently installed and managed through StormWorks.  StormWorks is a social enterprise created to support the mission of the Nine Mile Run Watershed Association (NMRWA) by implementing responsible stormwater management techniques throughout the Nine Mile Run watershed and beyond its boundaries.

More information can be found at the StormWorks website here.
